Color Me Creative Turns 3!

Happy Friday and Happy 3rd birthday to Color Me Creative! To celebrate we are kicking things off with a hop! If you are already hopping along you would have arrived here from Shannon's blog

Color Me Creative (CMC) is the online coloring resource site of one of my close friends Suzanne Dean. She had a BRILLIANT idea when she came up with the idea to not only have a place to learn but to meet and interact with other crafting enthusiasts. It is such a fun place to hang out online.

Saturated Canary is helping us kick off the birthday bash. Click here to go to the Saturated Canary blog  and see more amazing images like the ones you will be seeing today. On my card I used Nevaeh- she was a 'I must own her' image as soon as I saw her!

I used the following copics: E0000, E000, E00, E11, R20, R01, YR12, YR14, YR16, YR18, E23, E25, E27, E29, BG10, B32, B34, B36, W1, W3, W5, C3, C5, C7, C9.

I also used a white sharpie paint pen to add some detail. Suzanne got me addicted to those hee hee!!

We will be celebrating with lots of fun activities over the next few days and Suzanne is also having a BOGO sale on the online copic classes she offers! Click here to go to the CMC site and if you haven't joined yet now is a great time...and it's free to be a member!!

Okay, I need to stop yakking and let you get on your way. Next up on the hop is Michele and while you are hopping along don't forget to leave a comment at each stop of the way for your chance to win one of two craft gift certificates!!

Happy Crafting!!
Andi

Unity Thursday- Time for a New Challenge!

There are card and scrapbook layouts for you to work from
but this colour challenge SCREAMED for me to play with it first!

I stamped up the fun border stamp from this month's KOTM
in the ever so trendy Ombre style
I had fun finding out just how many green inkpads I actually own ha!
I then used this awesome sentiment from March's sentiment set:

Now off to the Lovely Eryn who has made a beautiful Challenge inspiration piece!!

High Hopes Stamps brings some Spring Flowers

As a self confessed girly-girl I do love making cards with all the frills. And I can't get enough of Teal with pink or peach! I coloured up this image from High Hopes stamps called 'Garden of Life'
I love how this image has a 'doodle' feel to it
I added lots of flowers to frame the image and continue with the colour theme. One of those feel good making and giving kinda cards!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Springtime Inspiration...

Spring...oh how I love thee!
In Ontario we are finally seeing the first signs of Spring
I don't know about where you are but here we were starting to doubt it was ever coming!

In searching for Spring Inspiration on Pinterest
I came across all these vintage Ferris Wheel pictures filled with soft pastels
and like that...Inspiration hit!

I LOVE when that happens!

I used the Ferris Wheel image and matching saying from the set 'What I know'
It is the August 2011 Kit of the Month
Sooo addicted to my KOTM's!
(you can still purchase this kit, click the name to find out more)

I found papers in my stash to match the colours I wanted
A doily, splash of white ink and some film strip
done in 15 minutes
that is REALLY good for me lol!!!

I hope these pictures inspire you today
just pick anything out of the images that captures your fancy
and let your imagination fly....

but it's Thursday so that means sale time!

Crazy 4 Challenges is getting Negative!

Yep it's true. C4C is VERY negative this week. Frances our hostess with the mostess has challenged us to use the negative space left over from punches or die cuts. How fun is that!!!

I kinda cheated and used a MFT die that cuts out the four circles above and leaves a negative space for you. So no I didn't get out the ruler and use my punches and creative this perfectly lined up piece. Thank you MFT for saving my sanity ;)

I also used this cute stamp set by Hero Arts that also uses the 'negative' space to show the design. How smart am I!! Frances should be proud! hee hee! I then filled in the remaining circles with items from my stash and added a ribbon. I am thinking it is almost impossible for me to NOT add ribbon to a card. Hope no one challenges me to do that for awhile.

To see how the rest of the Crazies got negative for Frances hop on over to the Crazy for Challenges blog and join us!

Cheers, Andrea

Throwback Thursday sale with Unity Stamps!

This week's fantabulous Unity sale is a 'Throwback Thursday' dealio featuring retired KOTM sets from 2008-2010 for only $26. I started collecting the KOTMs March 2009 so I am so excited to get my hands on some of the previous ones I missed out on!

Here is how I store my KOTM's in all their red rubber loveliness. I use clear plastic containers and I can fit comfortably 3 kits per container. I use a clear acetate sheet or those white stamp panels cut to fit to separate them. I put them in order and label them so I can find what I need quickly. I keep the sheet of paper they come with detailing what stamps are included in a binder that I can flip through quickly when searching for an image.

I know- it looks like I have a lot but I have to say I use them ALL the time! I love how varied the images are and not only do I use them but many times my kids have found the perfect images to use in their school projects! Paris project? Here's an Eiffel tower! Religion project? Here are tons of family and friends sentiments and images!

I tell you these kits have been justified so many times over lol!!

Again in honour of Throwback Thursday I wanted to share some of my favourite cards using these older kits. My style may have changed over the years but these cards still make my heart pitter patter!
