Kraftin' Kimmie challenge- bring out those buttons and bows

For today's challenge we want you to make your cards all pretty with buttons and bows. Today I am the hostess with the mostest so the prize up for grabs for playing along is the image you see on my card- sweet Emileigh with her pups- Puppy Love. I used my brand spankin' new Peachy Keen paper from Kaiser Craft that I picked up at Scrappingreatdeals.com. I originally was going to go a different way with my card but once I put it together the sweetness of the paper called out for sweet Emi to come and play. Hop on over to our challenge blog to see all the deets and make a sweet Kraftin' Kimmie card with buttons and bows to win and have an Emi of your own. Don't forget to stop by all the DT blogs to see what they have bow'd and buttoned up and leave a comment and let us know if you see something you like. Oh and before I forget I took a pic of the copic colours I used in case you are interested :)

Cheers and enjoy your Saturday, xoxo Andi

Guess what...I'm a Daredevil!

I am sooo excited to share that I am now part of Jessica Diedrich's Daredevils! Its a super fun blog that posts a challenge every Wednesday. I am pumped to be part of this fab team. You know what I really love about it- that her kiddies are the ones who create the sketches for our sketch weeks- can you say stinkin cute!
Here is my first official Daredevil post and its based on the sketch you can find here and at the Daredevil blog and please be sure to use DDSC24 when uploading to online galleries . On this card I used one of my Kraftin' Kimmie stamps - Puddles of Love. I wanted to use a 'kid' stamp to go with our kid inspired sketch. Our featured Daredevil this week is Sandra. So  hop on over to the challenge blog to check out the sketch and deets then stroll through the names below to see what the rest of the lovely ladies have created for you today :)

Copic help- hair colours

I hope you are all having a good day. I was until a few minutes ago and now I am in the middle of a wee temper tantrum I am ashamed to admit. This is the third time I am writing this post. The first one left when I went to make something a capital and the entire thing became highlighted and deleted. Not sure how I pulled off that magic trick. The second time thankfully I was only a bit into the post when POOF it left the screen. Now I am saving constantly lolz. Lesson learned. I wanted to share todaywhat colours I use to colour hair as I had showed a few of my friends the other day. These cards are very basic in terms of layout as the focus was on colouring. I want to share I got my hair colours from The Greeting Farm blog who also make these adorable stamps so I can take no credit for the colour combos. A piece of advice is to keep your blender pen handy to erase mistakes as its all about layering ink and colours so it can sometimes spread a wee bit. I like to call the blender pen my fave copic colour as I use it more than any of my other copic markers lol.

Black, grey, white and yellow card:
On this card I used the following colours-
Hair- C3, C6, C7 and 100 (black) but some found it better to use C9 as it does move a bit better to blend than black
Skin- E000, E00, E11 and using E00 I swiped it on an R20 marker to get the cheek colour
Dress and flower petals- Y11, Y15
Petticoat- C4+C5 on pockets, C6+C7 on rest of dress
I then outlined her in C1 and added a bit in the middle of the white flower centre to add some shading

Easter Card-
Hair- E25, E27, E31, E49
Bunny ears- outside- RV32, RV34 and inside- V000, V01
Dress, tights, shoes- RV32, RV34, V12, V15
Easter egg basket and eggs- Y00, Y02, BG13, BG23, YG, 23, YG25, V01
Skin- E000, E00, E11 and same as above for cheeks using R20
Outline- BG10

Hope this helps and I encourage you to go to The Greeting Farm blog for other hair colour suggestions :)

Cheers, Andrea

Kraftin' Kimmie challenge- Let's make a scene

This week's challenge is to use 2 or more KK stamps to make a scene and boy oh boy did I make one when I was making this card lol. I fussed and fussed trying to figure it out until it all came together. I chose Ozzie and Harriet and Antoinette and made a skating scene. I wish I could skate as well as them lol. I had a tree stamp I used for the background by using 3 different colour inks and stamping off before I stamped them on the paper. I then used a white glimmer paint to create the ice. I wanted to create the snow border around the edge of the rink so I used to clear dimensional glue and added chunky glitter for effect. I then cut out the images (and perhaps said a few choice words- cutting is not my strength lol) to help them pop off the page. You have to see what the rest of the DT created, they are incredible! So hop on over to the challenge blog to see their creations and learn how you can play along and win some free stamps- woot woot. Hope you have a great stampin Saturday! Andrea

Bench Friends.....can you find the hidden element?

One more day till release day for Kraftin' Kimmie stamps and this sneak peek used a new Cindy and Mindy image called Bench Friends. It's also challenge day and this week's challenge is to have a hidden element on your card. I tried to pass off hiding the bottom of my image behind the ribbon but Kimmie mentioned disqualification and since I am a rule player **cough cough** I thought I'd play along. Okay really I forgot to add a hidden element and tried to pass off the hidden bit by claiming the ribbon bit met the challenge but she didn't buy it tee hee. So back to the drawing board and I used a brad (hidden behind the ribbon ha ha) and added a sentiment that can be swung out. I used the sentiment "Miss me"...get it..hidden element...miss me...oh boy I laughed and laughed at the sheer genius of my creation. Okay...if you are still reading this glad my crazy moment didn't scare you off tee hee. I also used Jen Del Muro's SFYTT which you can find by clicking here. I have to say this was a fun challenge! To see the details of this week's challenge and also the rest of the DT's creations please visit the challenge blog and enjoy your day! Andi

My first sneaky peekie of KK stamps....

It's countdown time for Feb's Kraftin' Kimmie release so it's time for us start teasing you! Nah nah na nah nah....kidding..couldn't resist lol. For my first card I used 'Huck' drawn by Crissy Armstrong from the Crissy's cuties line. I have to have some more male focused cards and this one is for my nephew who just got a new puppy named Cullen. Can anyone guess what books his mom is a massive fan of? I gave him a nice tan and worn out knees and hopefully that is what it looks like to you too lol! Oh and that's my first time trying grass to look realistic..whatcha think??
I have already seen the rest of the Krafty Girlz sneak peeks and soooooooo good! Please feel free to visit each of them to see what they have for you. I have the DT listed on my blog sidebar for your clicking convenience.
Kim will also be having a very cool give-away with this release....I will post more deets tomorrow!
Cheers! Andi xoxo

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge- Let's rip that paper!

Today's challenge for KK stamps comes to us from the Krafty Momma Diana. She wants us to rip that paper- distressing old school style. Sorry, kickin' it ole school style. I am so darn hip and cool I'm narly! My kids are shuddering with embarrassment as I write this. I had a very fun Friday hanging out with Kimmie and Krafty Momma Diana. It was fun listening to them tease each other and I totally jumped from side to side egging each other on tee hee! It was a lot of fun crafting with these girls and its becoming a nice habit. Just make sure you say lorry (another term for truck) properly. In case you are wondering I pronounced it as "Lori" and it is supposed to be said with a slight cute british accent and pronounced "Lawwry". I bet you had no idea you would get a mini English lesson today. I feel smarter.

For this card I used Forget Me Not Fairy and paper from the Lilac line from Kaiser Kraft. I coloured her with copics and used stickles to glitter it up. I meant to put the purple glitter on the flowers and started putting it on her dress instead. I stopped right away but it was too late so I went with it- its not too bad. I used so much stickles that my paper buckled up and had to be reglued down- I did a little bit of grrr'ing then! According to Kimmie what did I expect after using almost a full bottle on the wings- pfffffft. Someone was getting a wee bit cheeky if you ask me, LOL!!!

On to the deets- click here to go to the challenge blog and if you play along with us this week, be sure to link us up in the comments of this post, and when you upload to Splitcoast, be sure to use the keywords KKSC16 and KraftinKimmie (all one word) and your design will show up in our Kraftin' Kimmie gallery!!!

I hope you have a fab Saturday and hopefully get some crafting time. Cheers, Andrea

Unity sentiments- one of my fave ways to make a card

I signed up to be part of Unity's friend's with flair which happens every Friday. It's a great reason to dig out my fave Unity stamps and get them inky. I love their great big sentiments that are perfect to base a card around. I used some of my SU patterned paper- I should say forced myself to use from my stash tee hee. I have a hard time using up paper when it's so pretty. But there is no sense just letting it get dusty I suppose  :) I punched out some butterflies to match the sentiment, added ribbons and crystals and VOILA! It was so quick and easy that even my hubby was shocked the card was made and photograped already lol. I usually colour with my copics which takes much longer so the freedom of just inking and stamping is so nice sometimes. I hope you all have a great Friday and a fab weekend! Andrea
