Project Life- The beginning

I've started
already addicted

just slide them in the pockets

add your Project Life or similar product's cards

add your trip mementos
I used my Tim Holtz stapler
so easy

closeups

It's not fancy
I haven't added a million of the amazing embellishments that you can
I've kept it simple
as I am about a basquillion pictures behind in scrapbooking

Pocket Scrapbooking
I love you

You don't have to do it for each day
each week
or even each month
(though I admire people who do)
you can just use it to catch up on your photos
and create scrapbooks for your family to enjoy
(and you'll enjoy it too :)

So this is me just starting out
Starting with our family trip to Ireland
I hope you don't mind but I am going to share the progress along the way!
Feel free to join me along the way with your own pocket scrapbooking!

Cheers, Andrea

Unity Thursday with some KOTM fun

Happy Last Thursday of May!
For today's hop I wanted to share some of the creations I made with this Month's KOTM
It's called 'Hey girl' which totally cracks me up if you have seen the Ryan Gosling meme's on the internet. He is actually from where I live and my kids go to school with some of his cousins. Small world. I will be sending quite a few cards overseas so I need them to be as flat as possible. That means no layer cards for the most part. I have to admit out of the 3 cards I made I ADORE the first one the most with those funky vintage glasses. I used some of my Prima colour bloom sprays and tapped ink to get the look I was going for. And for once I actually got it to work lol!!!!

So on to this week's hop and sale!

Ooooo I adore grab bags!
Remember how awesome they were when we were kids
a mix of candy and (cheap) toys
pure grab bag bliss!

And check out the Unity blog for more sale details!
Sale starts are NOON Central time :)

but while you hop don't forget:

We have TWO amazing Unity filled prize packages to giveaway.  Leave a comment on EACH blog in the hop (including the Unity blog) for your chance to win.  The winners will be announced Saturday night on the Unity blog.

Art Journalling with my daughter

Last night was Art Journal night at SGD hosted by the fabulous duo of Kim and Lori. I took my teen daughter Jaime along as this crafty venture finally appealed to her. Try as I might I can't usually get her to craft with me but when I told her that Art Journal has NO RULES she was all over it.

And she rocked it

She created the first picture using Dylusions sprays, assorted stamps and Staz On ink. This was her first page and she was HOOKED.

Her next creation is a tribute to her favourite movie Moulin Rouge. Again she used Dylusions Sprays, some of the new Prima Color bloom sprays for the splatters, various stamps, Staz On and then a stencil with embossing paste for the girl outline. When she explained what her page was about on the way home and why she chose the colours and elements that she did I was so pleased to see her express herself this way.

In fact she wants to bring some of her teen friends with us next month! Successful mom/daughter outing! Maybe you have a younger person or an older person in your life who may want to try this as well. This activity truly reaches all ages.

If you haven't tried Journalling yet you may want to think about giving it a try- it is so cathartic. In fact I am still mellowed out lol!!!!!!

Huge thank you to Kim and Lori for all their help with our questions last night. So patient and inspirational! And another thank you to the ladies there last night who made it such a warm and welcoming group.

Cheers, Andrea

Hop Hop Unity Hop

I had to play with these gorgeous flowers from this month's Layers of Life kit called- Never lose their beauty. I decided to give my mom this card as well for Mother's Day- her favourite colour is purple-I come by that naturally then lol. I coloured them up with copics, lacquered them up and here we go! Sweet but simple.

I actually have a second card to share today as well using the Dec KOTM from 2012 called Everyday Fairytale. I adore this kit and I love these gorgeous flowers and coloured them up with copics as well. This card was for the MIL- she loved it. I'll keep her I guess ;)

On to this week's awesome possum sale!

So I will be shopping today ;)

We have TWO amazing Unity filled prize packages to giveaway.  Leave a comment on EACH blog in the hop (including the Unity blog) for your chance to win.  The winners will be announced Saturday night on the Unity blog.

Paper Smooches Mother's Day Card

Thought I'd pop on to share my card for my mommy.
I have a new addiction (of course) with the watercolour craze that is going on
I saw someone do a wash just like this online and I fell in love!
This wash could be created using watercolour paints, any of the Tim Holtz distress inks, reinkers and daubers and also Derwent pencils.
You just need a touch of colour, water and a brush
And basically you become an artiste
at least that's what I told myself ;)

I used 3 different paper smooches sets
(justification for owning almost all of them)
and some enamel dots

Love it!
Hope she does too

Unity Hop- Down Memory Lane

*please click on picture to see it larger*

Happy Thursday!
for my hop card today I am going down memory lane….
to my first Unity stamps actually
yes that far back lol

My oldest daughter is graduating High School soon and her Prom is less than 2 weeks away. She has a few offers on the table for College and University and has pretty much decided on her course of action for now. I have watched her blossom and grow and work to find her own way in life- not just the one that perhaps people expected of her or actually didn't expect of her. I know that sounds vague but she has fought to get where she is today and to see so many schools offer her admission makes me so proud. I wanted to make her a card to show that I see her forging her own way and that she is doing the right thing…for her. So I dug into my Unity collection and found this quote from the simply named 'Unity Quote Bundle Pack'. Part of my first Unity purchase ever. And I saved and saved my pennies to get them as I needed these quotes in my collection!!! Great to say what your heart feels and also great to make up some quick cards. Oh and my daughter loves pink, black and white and Paris themes hence my photo backdrop today in her honour hee hee.

Our Thursday sale will start this afternoon- stay tuned to the website and our Facebook page for updates!

In the meantime there are lots of stops on the hop today with great inspiration.  AND...We have TWO amazing Unity filled prize packages to giveaway.  Leave a comment on EACH blog in the hop (including the Unity blog) for your chance to win.  The winners will be announced Saturday night on the Unity blog.

So have fun hopping and commenting and have a fabulous Easter Weekend!!

Unity Thursday- Easy Peasy Sale Day

Happy Thursday!

Today I used the Unity set 'With Sympathy' as I needed to make 2 sympathy cards. Not my favourite to make for many reasons. See these simple cards? They took 2 days to make. Two.Days. I truly struggled with how to keep it simple and keep the colours soft so that it wasn't offensive. I am positive i overthought this by 100%. 6 different cards made and these two made the final cut. Which one do you like better? Do you also struggle with Sympathy cards. For example- is it okay to use glitter? I have no idea and maybe there are no rules.

On to the great sale details!

Now that is what I call a nice and easy sale!

Also- We have TWO amazing Unity filled prize packages to giveaway.  Leave a comment on EACH blog in the hop (including the Unity blog) for your chance to win.  The winners will be announced Saturday night on the Unity blog.
