PRC18- It's a colour challenge...

Happy Thursday! This week's Paper Romance Challenge over at PRC is hosted by me! And as Fall is my fave season I have issued another Fall inspired challenge- use the colours Pumpkin, creme and black on your crafty item. I used one of the new High Hopes stamps- Froggy candy Bookmark to make this bookmark for my oldest DD. She was born in the Fall so she loves Halloween themed items and had issued a demand for a 'cool bookmark'. I hope this one fits the bill for her!

I hope you all have a gorgeous day and have time to get inky fingers! Cheers, Andi

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and my Oh Alice challenge card...

I combined 2 challenges into one this week as I had a 'vision'. The KKS challenge this week is to use the colours purple, green and orange which suits Miss Witchypoo just fine. Then the 'Oh Alice' challenge is to make a window card- another idea that Miss Witchypoo was all over! I used my nesties to cut out my window and it made lining it up a snap as I could cut through multiple papers at a time- I love things that work well with me being a lazy crafter hee hee.

How about you? Do these challenges inspire you as well? Maybe together like I did or separately. Either way- both challenges come with prizes so it's win win! To read more about the challenges and to see the AMAZING creations the DT's for both teams created click 'Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge blog' and also the 'Oh Alice' challenge blog to get started!

Have a craftin' great day! Andi

KKS weekly challenge- it's all black and white....and glow in the dark

**please note this is my second post for today, scroll down for my 'Oh Alice' challenge card**

Today's challenge from the sweetest and most talented Aussie I know- Donna- is to use black and white on your card. Ever since I picked up the COOLEST glow in the dark embossing powder at SGD I have been waiting for the opportunity to use Mitzi the Mummy and have some of her friends glowingly by her side! You should have seen me locking myself in our basement bathroom trying to take a picture in absolute darkness with my bad eyesight hee hee. I am very happy with the effect though! I hope the picture gives you a bit of an idea of how it looks.

Click here to go to our challenge blog and play along with us to win! It is so amazing to see how we all interpreted the challenge- now let's see how you roll with it!

Oh Alice....

`Why the Lion and the Unicorn, of course,' said the King.

`Fighting for the crown?'

`Yes, to be sure,' said the King: `and the best of the joke is, that it's my crown all the while! Let's run and see them.' And they trotted off, Alice repeating to herself, as she ran, the words of the old song: --

`The Lion and the Unicorn were fighting for the crown:

The Lion beat the Unicorn all round the town.

Some gave them white bread, some gave them brown;

Some gave them plum-cake and drummed them out of town.'

Hey everyone! We have a wonderful challenge today and a prize at stake from The Mad Hatter herself! Jessica will be giving away an {Ippity} prize pack of stamps plus a nice array of 6x6 designer paper to ONE lucky winner this week who is "Crowned" by Random.org!

Speaking of crowns, THAT's this week's challenge, brought to you by our very own Twisted Sis Sammi: Use CROWNS and/or MYTHICAL Creatures on your card or creation today! Click here to be taken to our challenge blog to be inspired by the amazing DT creations and also so you can link up your card to play along with us and perhaps be our lucky winner!

Don't you just think Annette looks like such the saucy minx? I love her innocent but sexay pose. I knew right when I saw her that I wanted to use a cherry paper background of some sort- and have her lips match in a cherry red. I just love this pin-up girls from Kraftin' Kimmie stamps! I know I know I gush every month but I honestly can't get enough of them! This week's challenge brought to us from Kimmie herself is to use Pink and bling- no problem!! One of my fave things on a card and Annette loves the bling too so we worked well together ;)

1 more sleeps till release day! To get more of your release fix hop over to the challenge blog for more sneak peeks and inspiration. xoxo

Oh Alice...

Just as Alice said this, she noticed that one of the trees had a door leading right into it. `That's very curious!' she thought. `But everything's curious today. I think I may as well go in at once.' And in she went.

Once more she found herself in the long hall, and close to the little glass table. `Now, I'll manage better this time,' she said to herself, and began by taking the little golden key, and unlocking the door that led into the garden.

Then she went to work nibbling at the mushroom (she had kept a piece of it in her pocked) till she was about a foot high: then she walked down the little passage: and THEN--she found herself at last in the beautiful garden, among the bright flower-beds and the cool fountains..."

Hello out there! It's a lovely day here in Wonderland and we are celebrating the summer with a nature theme today! Well, TREES and FLOWERS and BIRDS to be more exact! We scored a GREAT sketch sponsored by PAGEMAPS today that is just perfect for today's theme:

For my second Oh Alice post I was not only inspired by the pagemap sketch but also the story and just had to have an element of a key on my card. I used this small key I had handy and cut a small mushroom out of my paper to mimic the drinking of the potions, eating of the mushrooms and the key of course. I have to admit I have a few tree stamp sets I adore but I have been hanging onto this old SU one for years still without seeing ink so it was time to get it dirty. I used craft ink pads to show more vibrantly on the kraft paper. Hope you like it!

Now hop on over to the Oh Alice challenge blog to see the other amazing creations and see how you can play along as well. Happy Saturday! Andi

Sneak Peek- Miles the Clown

Woo Hoo...Sneaky peeky numero two!!
Today I am showing off Mr. Miles the Clown. I have to admit....Katie coloured him up first with the white face and his brown fur showing all around it and I totally copied her. Hmmm...I copied her...yep she is officially becoming more talented than me lol! I am going to show her card tomorrow when I have about 3 free hours to upload it on our old beast of a computer I am using since my laptop got sick and had to be sent away..**sob sob**. So...also copying Katie's fun colour choices (another reason I am showing hers tomorrow is because it is better than mine..I can admit it) and grabbed some of my more colourful October Afternoon paper and gave my card a party feel to match snappy Miles the Clown.

So...how are you loving the sneak peeks so far? Don't forget Sunday is the big release day for Kraftin' Kimmie stamps...come back to comment on all the blogs for the DT and our guests for a chance to win a free new release stamp too- Schweet!!

Paper Romance challenge time mixed in with some Kraftin' Kimmie sneak peeks

I have been waiting and waiting for September to arrive. I have been in a a wee secret- that this month's KKS release was going to have some pin-up girls. I ADORE  pin-up girls. I am not 100% sure but I vaguely recall seeing calendars in my Grandpa's garage that I loved to explore in. As nothing was ever thrown out you can imagine all the treasures I found including old calendars. The stuff I found which was 'garbage' back then would be so super cool now! And speaking of cool...the ladies that Annie drew for us this month are mind blowing and truly capture that bygone era Kimmie was looking for....and what I was hoping they would look like too hee hee! And over at the challenge blog...well see for yourself the crazy incredible cards the DT have made!

My first sample is using Jayne- one of my fave names actually. I have to say I am proud of how I coloured her. I had a private quick lesson recently from an artist on how to make my shading deeper and I am using it more and more. I haven't yet braved into the purple's and red's she wanted me to use on skin but I am getting there. I feel like an 'artiste' colouring these ladies and they are soooo easy and fun to colour!

The other reason's I have been waiting for this month's release is that I also love Fall (don't hurt me Summer lovers please) and we have Miles getting his Fall Funk on! You may see him on your blog hopping for sneaky peeky's today. And this month's set of sentiments- FANTASTIC!!! All geared towards being Thankful. Love it!

And...if there is any such thing as segue music please cue it now :). The PRC challenge this week is to make a sweet and simple card. I used some of the new KKS Thankful sentiments that will be available Sunday at KKS and ALSO at Paper Romance! Here is my card below.
Phew- can you tell I am loving this month! Also I usually make up my samples last minute..I know I know...FOR SHAME ANDREA!!! But I have had these done for awhile now I was so excited to get at them.

I hope I got your mojo pumping and to get it going further hop over to the PRC challenge blog to read the deets on the sweet and simple card challenge and how you can play to win a $5 gift card to Paper Romance. It can be used to buy some of these new KKS stamps among other amazing stuff *wink wink*:)  Andi xoxo

All things Unity Challenge 14- Be inspired

This week's Unity inspiration is the fun photo above. Now you make look at my card and start scratching your head but I will explain my creative thought process. First- I will admit the bright colours threw me- I am SO not a bright colour girl. Then I got hung up on what country did it represent? Finally I stopped analyzing and just let my eyes wander around the photo to see what inspired me. After I stopped stressing I kept coming to the flags and things that float in the breeze. Then it came to butterflies- they float in the breeze and I will always use any excuse to use a butterfly on my card. I did use the green in the photo but other than that I let the inspiration the flags gave me take over and let the card create itself.

Take a look at the photo again and see what inspires you? Instead of copying it which is what I normally do- just let an element of the picture carry you away. Your card may create itself like mine did :)

To see how the rest of my fellow ATU gals got inspired click here to go to the challenge blog and see how diverse we all were. I just love it!

Cheers- Andi xoxo

KKS challenge 44- it's a sketch challenge!

I may have mentioned on my bloggy that I L.O.V.E. sketches! Yep love them with my whole heart. You see I am sketch challenged. As such I have given myself permission to buy many cardmaking magazines to have on hand to look for card layouts- aka- sketches. I know that I should challenge myself to create some and get over this card making hurdle but then the magazines would suffer as they wouldn't have me as a customer. Can't have that now can we?

But..sometimes...on a bright sunny day...a sketch lands in my lap all ready to be used and loved. Like this one from my stamping idol Michele. Thank you Michele. You are not only one of the first blogs I started following and whose creations I covet but you are also a generous soul who makes my cardmaking easier. Michele...I hope this isn't too awkward...but I love you. I really do. Phew- so glad to get that off my chest hee hee! I do honestly adore Michele and her work and I don't know how she churns out one incredible card after another....okay enough with the gushing!

I hope you like my card using the Haunted House stamp released in August on my card today. I love the spookiness of it and how easy it is to colour. Truly a must have for any serious Halloween stamp collector ;). To see how the rest of the darling DT'ers and Krafty Guests have used Michele's sketch click here to hop on over to the blog and see how you can play along to win.

Toodles! Andi

My first post on the Oh Alice challenge blog!!!!

`Why, what are YOUR shoes done with?' said the Gryphon. `I mean, what makes them so shiny?'

Alice looked down at them, and considered a little before she gave her answer. `They're done with blacking, I believe.'

`Boots and shoes under the sea,' the Gryphon went on in a deep voice, `are done with a whiting. Now you know.'

`And what are they made of?' Alice asked in a tone of great curiosity.

`Soles and eels, of course,' the Gryphon replied rather impatiently: `any shrimp could have told you that.'

`If I'd been the whiting,' said Alice, whose thoughts were still running on the song, `I'd have said to the porpoise, "Keep back, please: we don't want YOU with us!"'

`They were obliged to have him with them,' the Mock Turtle said: `no wise fish would go anywhere without a porpoise.'

`Wouldn't it really?' said Alice in a tone of great surprise.
