High Hopes Stamps challenge- Get out your Purple!

(please feel free to click on the images to see them in closer detail)

I am so happy to be this week's hostess over at the High Hopes Stamps challenge blog. My fave colour is purple so I am asking you all to create a project using a HHS image and use lots and lots of Purple!

I used Laurie's Teapot as my image today and had fun using so many of my copics in the RV (Red/Violet) spectrum to add lots of different purple hues to my card. I also used some sweet treats paper from Bo Bunny as I thought a teapot should have some tasty delicacies too. I used a sketch from Jen's blog - Deconstructing Sketch- to base my card pattern on. I modified it slightly as I realized I had made my image to big to allow the banner strip that was part of the design. That's the nice thing about sketches- they are open to interpretation  thankfully.

I am totally in love with all the amazing purple loveliness the DT has created to help your mojo get fired up today. Hop on over and see the purple madness going on at the HHS challenge blog!

Cheers, Andrea

Crazy 4 Challenges is feeling all Springy!

Ahhh bless....Spring. I loves me some Spring. That fresh smell that accompanies the ground thawing out and the flowers pushing their way through the soil. Birds chirping like mad and that feeling of new beginnings. Yes I love it- SO HURRY UP AND COME!

Thankfully C4C is helping me cope with our Ontario Winter by giving us a Spring Inspired challenge. Think of Spring colours, new babies - human or fur, flowers and usually raincoats and wellies lol!. I went with Spring colours for my challenge card and used some Bo Bunny paper Country Garden paper and the card I had partially made during SGD's huge Bo Bunny event a few weekends back. I challenged myself to finish the card (I just had the card pop up base assembled) and to also use the card stock and stickers included in the kit I received. I did also add some satin ribbon and bling from my stash hee hee. Spring means bling in my books ;).

For more beautiful Spring inspired eye candy pop on over to the Crazy 4 Challenges blog to see what the other crazies have created. I already took a peek and the cards are beautiful!!! Feel free to play along with us- we'd love to have you!

Cheers, Andrea

I'm back and playing with Crazy 4 Challenges today!

It has been forever and a day since my last post. I have been soooo busy getting ready to move, moving and now in the chaos of unpacking that blogging got a vacation. I have to admit I missed crafting and blogging my creations as it really does keep me sane. And moving really tests the old sanity let me tell you!

I dug out a few supplies in my new but far from unpacked craft room to play along with this week's challenge over at the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Now I am going to be upfront and share that in the group emails I had heard some talk about this week's challenge and some hair being pulled out. I didn't think much of it- I mean I make 2 layered cards all the time. A card base- then my 2 layers. Easy Peasy!

Except I was wrong. So very very wrong.

A 2 layer card is the card base and one more layer. That is it. Sounds easy right? Now plan a card in your head and when you go to add more papers...remember to stop. See what I mean? It really is a challenge! After some swearing, temper tantrums and my own hair pulling an idea floated through. And truth be told I LOVE being challenged to step outside of my box so obviously the temper tantrums are just part of my creative process hee hee. To help meet the challenge requirements I just made my nice thick patterned paper from Bo Bunny into my card base. PHEW!

The design on my card was inspired by a design I found on my newest obsession/addiction Pinterest. The exception being it did use 2 layers plus a card base. The simplicity of the design but the eye catching impact totally rocked my world! This is my 2 layer take on it. Here is the original card I found on Pinterest that I think Amber Kroening was the original artist- if I am wrong my apologies!

See what I mean! Stunning!

I used Bo Bunny's GORGEOUS Almanac paper from the Country Garden line as my card base. I think I may need to buy a basquillion sheets of this particular paper cause I can't get over how much I love it! I had originally planned to use another sheet from that line as my 2nd piece but then this cool blue wood grain piece from MME caught my eye. To create my butterfly cut outs I used Martha Stewart's punch all over the page butterfly punch. Not sure why I haven't use these punches before because they are brilliant! It was missing something so I added a sentiment and some bling and then decided to walk away to keep the simplicity of the card. I am happy with how it turned out.

Then I had to find my photography equipment- Oi Vey!!!!!

So come on and get crazy with us at the C4C challenge blog. Let us know how you did with the 2 layer challenge!

Cheers- Andrea

SGD Stamping Bella Card kits and Unity decorated Grab bags

Andrea here on this sunny Saturday!

I wanted to share a picture of the November card kit contents and one of my completed cards. They are all packaged up and ready to go but we are awaiting  the stamps for the kit from our supplier- kind of an important part of the kit lol!!! I have been itching to share this card for a few weeks now and just can't wait anymore as I love this crazy reindeer from Stamping Bella!

I used some of my Bo bunny paper from the kit to make up this card so I matched my colouring to the colours in the paper. I will include what copics I think compliment it well in the card kit instructions to help make it easy for those of you who like to match like me :)

In this month's kit we also provide cricut cut sentiments for your cards- brilliant!!! It was Sheila's idea and the reason I am sharing that is because Lori and Kim had to cut them all out and I guess they were ready to wring my neck after hee hee!!!!! So again it was SHEILA'S great idea and we appreciate the hard work as they are amazing!!! Thanks ladies!!!

Keep an eye out for the second card from the kit and also for the kits to go on sale because once they sell out they can not be reordered.

Thank you to Susan who sent me this picture so I could share it with you. It was taken by her cell phone and I think it did a pretty good job!

This is a picture of the grab bag that attendees of the punch a bunch class this weekend will be receiving. I made these up for Sheila using the Unity stamps for the Simple Stories kit generations. I just love this set!!! I especially love the doilies and they are so hot right now in the crafting world. The set even came with the sentiment you see below the SGD. Now the SGD stamped on here was using monograms from Just rite Stampers. Look Anja- I used your fave stamps! hee hee. This bag is so packed full of good stuff I am insanely jealous I am not going to the class and getting one!

Well that's enough from me today. I hope you have a wonderful day ladies!

Cheers, Andrea

It's anything goes for the KKS challenge this week- includes more sneaky peekys!!!

Smiling...so important but so hard to do some days. I love to smile- especially when I am feeling down. I try to cheer myself up on down days by making a point to make eye contact with someone- in the bank, a cashier or when walking by someone. One of the nice things is that I don't think most people can resist a smile and smile back and it is so great when you can see it reach their eyes. They are happy to receive common courtesy's from a fellow human being. Try it- it really does make you happy to see that you made some one else smile. Mother Teresa was so right with this quote- 'Peace begins with a Smile'. Try it..really...it's contagious. I am smiling at you right now actually ;)

This week's challenge thrown down my Kraftin' Kimmie herself is anything goes! Well I happen to have lots of new anythings on my craft table so I was happy to play along. I have my new Bo Bunny papers and embellies and they are covered in butterflies. I love love love butterflies and they really matched up well with this quote for me. For more sneak peeks of the fantastic March release and more deets on how you can play along with us this week hop on over to the KKS challenge blog! I am packing up my crafty supplies to head over to fellow Krafty girl Angie's house to help her celebrate her birthday with a crafter's bonanza- can't wait!! Andi

KKS Day 3 preview- It's a relaxing card today!

I love this stamp. Love it. I feel sooo relaxed just looking at it. In fact I am in a hot tub right now, with a glass of wine, a good book and lots of candles going while I write this. Obviously just in my head because in real life my daughter's would find it imperative that they need to talk to me/use the bathroom/fight, etc at that moment. Also the cats would be throwing themselves at the door trying to get in so all I would hear is 'thump thump thump' and my dog would be loudly sighing at all the drama. That is what bath time would really be like at my house. Which is why whenever I have gone away to a hotel I love to have a long, quiet bath...sigh...

Today the Krafty girls and Krafty guests are sharing sneak peeks of Annie's new March images like the one I shared above. I have to be honest- this release of every day women may be my favourite. I love them all. To see more of Annie's sweet ladies click here to go to the challenge blog and see which Krafty Girls are teasing you with previews today.

Cheers! Andi
